Another Fantastic Artist!
We’ve had a lot of recent luck meeting very cool artists lately. Between NY Comic Con, Albany Comic Con and the in-store events at our favorite shops Alterniverse and Alterniverse 2, we’ve had a ball. Lots of comics signed, sketches made. Great stuff. We now have 3 solid Dr. Inferno sketches. Check out www.SkateboardHeroes.com where I plan to start posting them in the near future.
Today was a special treat. You know that card game Magic: The Gathering? I don’t actually play, though I’m a little interested. I’m waiting for my oldest to be just a little older so maybe I can get in on it with him. Maybe some of his friends will dig it. I mean, I used to LOVE Dungeons and Dragons. It’s kind of a similar thing. and if you’re thinking “I can sell me some acne remedies BIG TIME” then you’re kind of a douche. Not wholly inaccurate, but definitely kind of a douche.
Anyway, one of the artists who creates artwork for the cards in the game is the very talented Eric Deschamps. And guess what…he’s a great guy. My oldest and a friend has a ball talking with him, and even the baby was good. She barely fussed. I think she kind of liked the painting of the cat and the lizard…I got her to say ‘meow!’ a bunch of times.
The coolest part was that Eric Deschamps did a sketch of our favorite Skateboard Heroes villain, and sort-of-official most dangerous person on the planet, Dr. Inferno. It is a real treat because his style is so unique. While we love every Dr. I we’ve received thus far, it was so exciting to get a real unique perspective from someone who is not a conventional comic book artist. Yay, yay, hooray!
So, with the artist’s permission, I will be posting a Dr. Inferno sketch on Skateboard Heroes in an hour or so. Rush over and check it out. And if you have watched the trailer or downloaded Chapter one (all three parts) you’d better get on that too.
Rock on my sk8’n peeps!
